4th of July Carnation Balls

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. Swimming, grilling, watching fireworks. I love it all. And it is only a month away! I thought I would celebrate by showing you an idea I love from Country Living:

This centerpiece is made by saturating a 3-inch sphere of floral foam with cool water and inserting short carnation stems in a coiling pattern until the sphere is covered. It will take about 50 carnations for each one. If you place the bottom of the sphere in a saucer of water it should last for about a week.

Ohhhh you could even die some of the carnations blue by letting them sit in water that has blue food coloring in it. Cool idea thanks for posting

American Flag cake is a great dessert for 4th July. I have read on Project Weight Loss the recipe. My kids appreciated it. It feels good when your family says you're a great chef. It isn't a hard recipe, but that will be my secret.
