DIY Benchs

Sarah the Thrifty Decor Chic spotlighted a couple of blogs that she loves. And let me just tell you that I added about 100 new blogs to my Reader. LOVE THEM!

One of them was Karla's. And it is because I fell in love with this bench:

She took an old headboard and turned it in to a gorgeous bench! I love it! I don't even have a headboard on my bed but I want to find one to turn into a bench!! I have way too many projects on my someday list this summer!

And since we are on the topic of benches, I love this one from BHG:

that they made with three old dining chairs. They removed the cushions and replaced them with a piece of plywood. They painted it all and made a cushion and voila, it is a bench. I think I would pick a different pattern and leave off the back pillows all together, but other than that I love it!

How many benches is too many?

I am sorry, I may have to stop reading you. You have pointed me to so many inspiring projects, I now feel overwhelmed. Thanks for that.

Hey, what a clever idea using the old dining room chairs! I'm with Missy, I'm overwhelmed and anxious looking at my "I wanna do this projects" list. It's growing longer by the minute!
BTW, love the flip flops at the top of your blog :).

I was driving home from work last Saturday (after having seen Sarah's blog earlier that week) and saw a yard sale with an old headboard leaning against the garage. I nearly stopped to get it just for this project - but then I reminded myself I have NO TIME right now.

But I do love that headboard bench - and someday I will have the time. And I'll stop at the next yard sale! :)

I am going to have to agree Missy...I pretty much want to make/do/talk about every idea/project you show :) Keep the great ideas coming!

Don't feel overwhelmed! The reason I started this blog is because I didn't have time to do all the great things I saw. So I started blogging about them so that when I did get the time I knew where to find them!!

The way I feel is that there are a million cute things out there and NO ONCE can do all of them, but if you are going to put your time and money into a project, don't you want it to be the best one! How horrible to do something and then two weeks later find something you would have RATHER done!

Just think of my blog as research! ;D
