Distressing with Wax

I love this idea from A Thousand Words:

Although the distressed monogram isn't new, she used melted wax to do the distressing. She painted the entire letter brown, then rubbed melted wax over it. After she painted it white, she easily scrapped the white paint off in the areas she had painted over the wax. Does that make sense? Probably not, but it will if you check out her tutorial here.

Popsicle Party

I love this image from Better Homes and Gardens:

What a fun way to serve popsicles all at once! I wonder how long they will stay frozen like this? Or if they start to get melty pretty quick? Anyone ever do this? I might have to try it just to see if it works!

Jar Centerpiece

Ooooooooooooooooooo....Pretty:

Karla found it on Apartment Therapy. I am glad she did. I knew I have been saving all those random glass jars for some reason!

Flip Flop Cookies

Some Nutter Butters and frosting and you have these flip flop cookies:

Don't these cookies from A Little Loveliness make you want to have a beach party!

Or if ballet is more your style, dip the Nutter Butters in pink candy melts and you have ballet slippers:

Or you can go blue and make soccer cleats:

I love the chocolate chips on the bottom that make the cleats!!

Polka Dot Shake

I tried to talk my sister-in-law into having a circus party for my niece's first birthday. No luck. But she is having a polka dot party. FUN!

So now I am on the lookout for polka dot ideas. (So if you know of any, send them my way!!)

So please excuse the excess number of polka dots. At least they aren't as scary as clowns.

See, polka dots:

Not scary at all!
